ADULT ZANSHINDO CLASSOur adult Zanshindo classes are the most comprehensive mix of martial arts and competition that we teach. Any teen or adult interested in training is accepted and new students can start in any class. By combining world-class stand up techniques with the ultimate in ground fighting holds and locks, anyone can learn to not be panicked in a self-defense situation. If competition is your desire, our adult classes can teach you necessary skills in kickboxing, grappling, or MMA competition. This class is a great way to stay in shape while learning martial arts and with classes 6 days a week, time for you to learn and train is always available to fit your busy schedule.WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENSEAlthough we would like to think otherwise, women will always be a target of aggression and it is better to be prepared for an attack than to be victim. Therefore, Relentless Martial Arts Academy introduced this self-defense class which teaches realistic and practical self-defense techniques, confidence, and awareness as well as open discussions. The focus is on self-defense, but class is taught in a fun and exciting way to optimize learning and retention.TEEN ZANSHINDOLike our adult Zanshindo classes this is a mixture of all different types of martial arts and it makes up our truly unique mixed martial arts class. As the teens progress they will learn new techniques such as takedowns and throws from judo and wrestling, submissions, and striking skills.YOUTH ZANSHINDOOur youth Zanshindo classes are designed to give children the confidence and abilities not just in martial arts, but also in their daily lives. Zanshindo is a martial art form that combines techniques found in many traditional martial arts such as Karate, Kickboxing, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu and Tae Kwon Do. By training effective techniques repetitively, our students are able to defend themselves with complete self control while still being able to think of the next step; thus giving them an edge in a self-defense situation.GRACIE BARRA JIU-JITSUThis class is for anyone and everyone who is looking to get into shape, learn self-defense, and improve their overall quality of life. If you truly want to defend yourself, you need to know how to protect yourself on the ground. It has been shown countless times that a smaller, weaker person will be forced to the ground – intentionally or accidentally –by a larger, stronger assailant. With Brazilian jiu-jitsu it is not only possible to survive such situations, but to gain control and ultimately force the attacker into submission or unconsciousness.WRESTLING CLASSOur Wrestling classes are great way to get in shape and be motivated to work towards your goals of physical fitness. While learning the basic moves to help with high school wrestling. These classes are set up to help build confidence in each participant. Our facility provides you with free-weights, a tread mill, jump ropes, sauna and various machines to complete your workouts.FIGHTER CLASSRelentless Martial Arts Academy offers a specially designed class that helps students work on various sparring situations, cardio, and honed techniques that will ensure they are ready for competition. Upon signing up each student receives a fighter profile, which is a binder that tracks hours of training, after a completion of required training hours the student will then have an evaluation to become an official fighter for our school.

A FEW WORDS about USOur style "Zanshindo" combines various other traditional and non-traditional styles to provide for many different people and situations. This makes it possible for us to teach techniques for realistic self-defense, and yet at a strenuous enough pace to keep you or get you into great shape. We also train for various level of competition. What is Zanshindo?Zanshindo is a mixed martial arts style that combines several traditional styles together into a more complete non-traditional style. Because it is non-traditional Zanshindo allows for an ever expanding knowledge base, so even after the curriculum is mastered, there is still more to learn. Zanshindo is a fully realistic mixed martial art as well. In this style, there are no katas or forms without partners, instead, the techniques are always practiced on a partner or on pads. Therefore, each student in the system can learn more than just theory on what if, they can also feel the what ifs as their partner responds to their reactions. This style is a very responsive style. Instead of memorizing a long list of attacks in sequence, the students in a Zanshindo class are taught the small steps in between and therefore can apply those techniques wherever necessary.Zanshindo teaches adults and children for self-defense, fitness, and competition. Our style also teaches children many beneficial skills including discipline, self-control, patience, kindness and other skills that will set them apart from the rest when it comes to being strong in character. The word Zanshindo is Japanese for the way of no mind, or a state of total awareness and relaxation. This relates to our style in that once a technique is mastered, one must not think hard on what to do, but the reaction comes anyways.WHY choose USOur goal is to give our customers the very best. The best classes, the best techniques, the best value... therefore, we do not charge High monthly rates. We offer a very competitive rate for something you can't get anywhere else in Warsaw, which is our one-of-a-kind instruction method and techniques. We focus on being a family and growing together.

Born: June 01, 1985Began Martial Arts: 2005Position: Owner / Fight and Conditioning CoachCurrent Ranks: Black Belt/Black Shirt in Zanshindo, Brown Belt in Marine Corps Martial Arts (MCMAP), Blue Belt with four stripes in Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu I was raised by my mother and had two brothers and one sister. I joined the wrestling team in 1998. Although not very good at first, I had a lot of heart and continued to stick with the sport. All throughout high school I had wrestled on a team that was one of the best in Ohio (Madison) and compiled a list of notable medals and trophies. After high school I joined the Marine Corps, shortly after joining my 1st duty station I located a fellow Marine who wrestled in open tournaments in the area. Shortly after I was introduced to Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP), during my testing for my grey belt, we did grappling... with no submission experience at all, I tapped out one opponent who out weighed me by at least 50 lbs. Next I grappled a Marine who out weighed me by at least 75 lbs, but it was a stalemate after about ten minutes. At this point I became very intrigued by grappling and because of my wrestling background I was decent at it. I started watching the UFC and becomeing heavily involved in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. I deployed to Iraq in 2005 where I had tested and achieved my green belt in MCMAP. After getting back to the states I slowly started training on my own due to shortness of money. After another deployment in 2007 to Japan, Thailand & Singapore I returned again, this time finding the money to pay for classes at Beaufort Martial Arts Academy, I picked up my first rank (Yellow Shirt) not to long after, and then had my first MMA amateur competition in Savannah, GA. After a 3 round battle it came to a majority draw. Not long after I had picked up my next rank of Orange Shirt. Then fighting again a couple months later in my 2nd MMA fight, this time not so successful. I lost in the 2nd round due to a mistake and being unfamiliar with fighting in the cage (my 1st fight being in a ring).Since then I have been in 2 grappling competitions as well, and now I am continuing to look for competition and ways to improve my skills in MMA. David and myself started to hangout and became best friends. He already had the dream of opening a school but him and his wife came to me and asked if I wanted to be apart of this. Now the school is up and we want to give our knowledge and expertise to teaching those who want to pursue careers in competition, for self defense , or just get a good workout.
Born: March 25, 1983Began Martial Arts: 1990Position: Owner / Head InstructorCurrent Ranks: Black Belt/Black Shirt in Zanshindo; Black Belt in Marine Corps Martial Arts (MCMAP), Purple Belt Gracie Barra Jiu-Jitsu I was in the Military for 7 ½ years where I was a Naval Hospital Corpsman (Medic). While in I did things from being an EMT to minor surgeries to being with the Marines. I went to boot camp in Illinois from there I went to North Carolina, California, Virginia, and ended in South Carolina. While stationed in California I became a wrestling coach for Lemoore High School this was great seeing I was a varsity wrestler all through out high school. This is also where I started to watch mixed martial arts (MMA). Even though I took Tae Kwon Do as a kid I wanted something different, I knew I wanted to grapple because of my wrestling background. When I moved on the Virginia I began to study Jiu-jitsu by watching videos and reading books. I was only there for 5 months but before I left I researched Beaufort South Carolina where I knew I was going. This is where I started my Zanshindo Quest. The First night I was there I broke my ribs the next night I was right back in there. By the end of the week I was hooked forever. I told my instructor Sensei Abe Stem I wanted him to teach me everything he knew. That brings me to where I am now with Zanshindo having my black belt and owning my own school. Also while in Beaufort I received my Black Belt in MCMAP and Purple Belt in Gracie Barra jiu-jitsu under Professor Joshua (FOCA) Miller. I love teaching classes and having students look up to me for their growth in Martial Arts and having my wife by my side teaching women and kids classes. We also serve as director of fundraising and sponsorship of the United Zanshindo Association which unifies our style of jiu-jitsu nationwide. " At the heart of the Gracie Barra Family's extraordinary success over the years is our strong philosophy and mission as a group, a foundation which our masters laid many years ago, but is constantly being reinforced by the great people that make our community. Jiu-Jitsu is a beautiful art, and we have a vision of how it should be taught as a means for induvudual development going beyond the competitive realm. To achieve this vision, we must remember to come together as a family, always putting the team in front of individual. For that, we will fight to the end for what we believe is right".~ Master Carlos Gracie Jr. (Founder)
